  • Dr. M.G. Chandrakanth has invited to lecture on 'Impact of Globalization on Agriculture' at the Department of Economics, Mangalore, Mangalagangotri on November 17, 2001.
  • Dr. M.G. Chandrakanth has visited the Department of Environmental Studies, Florida International University, Miami for two months (April - June 2001) to work on (1) estimation of existence value of sacred groves of Kodagu and (2) estimation of negative externalities in groundwater irrigation in hard rock areas of Karnataka. Dr.Chandrakanth's interactions with Dr. Mahadeva Bhat, have been academically productive as they are leading to formulation of working papers in these two areas. These would be sent for publication to Ecological Economics.
